Boorloo Bridge

2025 National Infrastructure Awards Finalist

Boorloo Bridge

The $190 million Boorloo Bridge comprises two cable-stayed bridges, approximately one kilometre long, over the Swan River connecting Victoria Park foreshore, Heirisson Island and the Perth CBD at Point Fraser. The Bridge has a six-metre-wide segregated path with dedicated lanes for cyclists and pedestrians, replacing the previous two-metre-wide active transport path. Construction was undertaken from early 2023 to late 2024 by the Causeway Link Alliance, comprising Civmec, Seymour Whyte, WSP and Main Roads Western Australia.

The Judging Panel acknowledged the collaboration between the WA Government and private sector partners, which included efforts to respect the cultural and environmental heritage of the project site and community. The Panel also recognised the engagement with the indigenous community, which contributed to maintaining cultural and environmental sensitivity throughout the process. The final design, featuring a dynamic lighting system with 17,000 LED lights, contributed to telling the story of Perth’s cultural heritage while enhancing the area’s overall amenity.
